A1:  How does it work?  It depends on if we are starting from scratch or re-designing your existing site.  Here is an overview of the process:

1.  Complete our order form and send it back to us via fax, e-mail or regular mail.
2.  We reserve your domain name (yourcompany.com, .net and .org) for at least 1-year (new web sites only) or transfer your domain name to us (existing web sites)
3.  We reserve web space for your web site with a web hosting company.
4.  You send us all necessary product photos, logos, documents and text.
5.  We design a basic color scheme, navigation system, site map with linking structure, format, enhance and optimize all photos and text.
6.  We double check the accuracy of all text and verify all links.
7.  We optimize each page for search engines with specific meta tags, key works, page descriptions, page titles and alternate picture text.
8.  We initialize all e-mail address for your web site and send you instructions on how to set-up those e-mail address in Outlook or Outlook Express.
9.  We publish your web site to the web server, submit your web site to the major search engines and notify you of it's completion.
10. We send you a copy of your web site on CD-ROM via FedEx Ground (including all user names and passwords).

A2:  How long does it take?  Most web design (from scratch or re-designs) take approximately 30-90 days.  Complex web sites with over 30 pages, animations, video streams or e-commerce shopping carts can take significantly longer.  The actual time necessary for your project depends on receiving all necessary images and documents as well as feedback from you.

A3:  How do I know what functionality and features my web site needs?  Each case is different and is studied accordingly.  After we perform an initial site analysis, we make recommendations accordingly.  The recommendations are based on download speed, ease of use, sales and distribution method of your products, special functionality needs (streaming videos, product demos, password protected dealer and/or rep areas, shipment tracking, etc.).

A4:  Who maintains my web site?  All web sites we design can be maintained by the Client using industry standard web design software like Microsoft Front Page, Macromedia Dreamweaver or Adobe Go Live!.  For an additional charge, we offer full web maintenance/tech support plans by the hour or flat rate (please call 1-866-522-1889) to discuss your specific needs.

A5:  If you maintain my web site, how fast are updates made?  Updates can be made in as little as 24-48 business hours to several weeks, depending on scheduling and the number and complexity of changes.  Updates require your feedback with all necessary text, images and or documents are sent to us with instructions via e-mail.  We will notify you when the updates are completed via e-mail, phone or fax.

A6:  How will I know how much traffic my web site is getting?  A part of every ScoCar web site is site traffic reporting.  You can receive graphical traffic reports via e-mail at  the time intervals you specify.  The reports will show you how many hits (how many times people actually clicked on your web site), unique visitors (how many individuals visited your web site), where they came from (search engines or other sites used to find your site), how long they were on your web site, what part of the country they are from and when and where they left your web site.

A7:  Do I have to worry about e-mail spam and viruses?  E-mail spam and viruses are a fact of life today.  Safeguards and precautions are taken on the web site and web server to minimize e-mail spam and viruses.  We urge all customers to install anti-virus, anti-spam and firewall software.  While we take all reasonable precautions to prevent e-mail spam and viruses, we cannot guarantee e-mails received by you to be spam and/or virus free and cannot be held responsible for any damages thereof.

A8:  Why do some of the functions of my web site not work on my computer?  If your computer has certain Internet security software (anti-virus, anti-spam or firewall software) and/or are using Microsoft Internet Explorer with Windows XP SP2, some features may not be viewable without modifying the program settings.  For best results, please follow these instructions:

1.  Windows XP SP2 users will need to modify the built-in pop-up blocker settings in Internet Explorer to view certain web animations and movies.  To do this, open Internet Explorer.  Then, go to the Tools menu.  In the Tools menu select Pop Up Blocker and then select Pop Up Blocker Settings.  In the dialog box, type in your web site (www.yourwebsite.com) and click add.  Also, under notifications and filters at the bottom, make sure all boxes are checked and set filter level to medium.

2. Turn on Active X controls in your browser

3. Turn on Java Scripting in your browser

4. Make sure you have the following free software installed (version 4.0 or higher):

a. Adobe Acrobat Reader - For viewing Adobe PDF files
b. Microsoft Internet Explorer - For fast Internet browsing
c. Macromedia Flash Player - Required for viewing movies and some animations

5. Set your screen or monitor resolution to 800x600 pixels

6. Additional anti-virus, anti-spam, Internet security and/or firewall software setting adjustments may be necessary.  Please refer to the help function of your software from the help menu.
