I acquired a 1969 AMX from the original owner who drove it hard for many years and had finally stored it for over twenty years when I bought it. As I researched where to buy parts for it, I came across several companies specializing in these great cars—one of which was ScoCar, owned by Scott Alan Carpenter. 

At first when I compared prices, I found ScoCar’s posted prices more than the competition. However, I read the ScoCar website “fine print” and found that their prices included all purchase costs, including shipping and taxes. Now these prices were often better than others I compared with the added costs.

I have ended up buying from ScoCar most of the major components I replaced on the car. But the thing that was most helpful to me was that Scott has been more than willing to answer my questions and help me with solutions when I didn’t know where to turn. He was available when I reached out and never seemed in a hurry. He took the time necessary to help. He also was able to source a few items that were unobtainable based on my research, but Scott was able to find what I needed. 

In short, I have been very grateful to Scott/ScoCar for the help, support, and quality parts I received along my restoration journey. My car is nearly done and ready for upcoming car shows as well as be my daily driver. Thank you, Scott, and good luck with your great company!
